On 09.06.2020 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within Java.

SAP Note 2931391 addresses "[CVE-2020-6271] Missing XML Validation in SAP Solution Manager (Problem Context Manager)" to prevent denial of service (dos) information disclosure with a high risk for exploitation.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process, the team suggests.

Risk specification

The application Problem Context Manager in SAP Solution Manager does not perform the necessary XML validation, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to crash the system or disclose Information that would otherwise be restricted.

The affected servlet is deprecated and was deactivated to prevent this attack
